The future of IBO Light Flyweight champion Rey Loreto (18-13, 10) appears to be a confusing one. On boxrec.com Loreto is apparently set to return on December 13th in South Africa to face former foe Nkosinathi Joyi (24-3, 17) in a rematch of bout from earlier this year. Our Filipino sources however have suggest Loreto's return won't be in South Africa but instead it will be in Davao Del Sur on a Sonshine promoted card on September 27th. The Filipino source has stipulated that Loreto will be fighting Indonesian journeyman Oscar Raknafa (12-6, 5), best known as the debut opponent of Kosei Tanaka.
At the moment we're unsure who is right and who is wrong though the issue is even more confusing if you look at boxrec.com, who currently have Raknafa down to fight Raymond Tabugon (13-3-1, 5) on September 9th. Incidentally they don't list the Sonshine show at all with the only scheduled Filipino show for that day being an Elorde promotions show in Paranaque City, Metro Manila.
We hope to have this issue cleared up in the coming days as we really do miss watching Loreto who, in the last 18 months, has really made a name for himself with big wins, not just his knock-out over Joyi but also his technical decision over Pornsawan Porpramook. It's just a shame that Loreto momentum has been frozen a long period of inactivity following his win over Joyi in February.
