It's only a few weeks to go until Japan's Kohei Kono (29-8, 12) faces Thailand's Denkaosan Kaovichit (62-3-1, 26) for the vacant WBA Super Flyweight title. Despite the expected tension it seems that Kono is actually really enjoying his training came and earlier today he got to share the gym with Japanese wrestling icon KENTA.
KENTA, from the NOAH wrestling organisation, had a joint practice session with Kono due to the friendship of Watanabe gym's chairman and NOAH stake holders. Although it seemed like a lot of fun and games in the pictures we've seen apparently the session was a serious one with the men both doing various training exercises such as mitt work and shadow boxing.
The training, which has been tough for Kono so far, appears to have lightened up somewhat for a little bit before serious last minute work gets back under way.
