The 26 year old Naito first burst on to the scene in 2014, when he claimed the Japanese title at Super Featherweight with a stoppage win over veteran Hiroyasu Matsuzaki. He would defend the title 3 times before losing a technical decision to Kenichi Ogawa, who also defended the title against Naito in 2016. During his 20 fight career Naito has beaten the likes of Shingo Eto, Masayuki Ito and Nihito Arakawa, and is a speedy and technical boxer, though with the extra bulk at 140lbs he does seem more of a fighter than he did at Super Featherweight.
As for Arienza the Filipino will be fighting for the first time since losing in a bout for the OPBF title, losing a majority decision to Darragh Foley back in June. The southpaw, known as "The Bull", is well travelled with bouts in Japan, Mexico and Australia, but is lacking a win on the round and has come up short against the likes of Masayuki Ito, Daishi Nagata and Akihiro Kondo.
The bout will take place at Dangan 204, which will take place on January 13th at the Korakuen Hall. The winner will be expected to get a title shot later in the year.
