It appears that over the past week or two the IFBA (International Female Boxing Association) have been busy lining up their title fight for Korea where there now appears to be 2, if not 3, title fights lined up.
The first one that we got reports of was a March 1st contest between Dorkmaipah Kiatpompetch (0-1), of Thailand, and Korea's very own Dan-Bi Kim (8-2-1, 2). Sadly this bout isn't mentioned at all, from what we can see, on the IFBA website although the KBC, Korean Boxing Commission, do still list this contest as going ahead and as being featured in MBC Sports.
Although we're unsure on the March 1st fight we are sure that on March 23rd the American-Korean Jennifer Han (10-2-1, 1) will travel to Korea to fight Ji-Hye Woo (13-2, 1) for the IFBA Super Featherweight title. We're unsure if this sees both Woo vacating her Featherweight title or will instead see her "regular" Featherweight title being upgraded to a Featherweight "super" title though we are hoping that the confusion will be sorted before fight night.
A week later, on March 30th, Ji-Hyun Park (19-2, 5) will defend her IFBA Minimumweight super title title against Mexico's Anahi Torres (12-11, 2). There is no confusion in regards to this bout with every source, the KBC and IFBA, all agreeing on every detail.
It certainly seems that the IFBA are getting busy in Korea even if the Korean men aren't setting the world alight.
