Tomorrow fight fans in Japan will get the chance to see former world title challenger Reiya Konishi (15-1, 5) [小西伶弥] restart his career, following his loss to Carlos Canizales in a WBA world title fight. The exciting Japanese fighter will be up against little known Filipino foe Orlie Silvestre (11-3-1, 7) with the two men battling for the currently vacant WBO Asia Pacific title Light Flyweight title.
Today Konishi and Silvestre took part in their weigh in for tomorrow's contest, and both men managed to make the 108lbs limit.
Konishi was bang on the 108lb mark, and he did look the more imposing of the two fighters, having several inches of height over the Filipino fighter and looked in the slightly better shape, though both men did look good. Konishi seems to be seeing a win here as his route to a second world title fight.
Silvestre was way under the limit, coming in at 106.9lbs, more than a full 1lb under the limit. Although thi isn't the lighest that Silvestre has been it is lighter than he was last time out, and suggests that he has really prepared hard for this bout, which could see him opening the door for a potential world title fight down the line.
For fans wanting to watch this bout it will be televised on Fuji TV 1 tomorrow form 7PM local time.
