The bout will decide the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, currently held by Filipino Donnie Nietes who won the title when he defeated the Thai earlier this year.
For Eaktwan the bout is his first outside of Asia, and sees him look to bounce back from his loss to Nietes back in April, when he had competitive moments against the Filipino. Prior to that loss he had been in good form winning 15 in a row with 11 stoppages. The competition might not have been great but included decent fighters like Takayuki Okumoto and Jenny Boy Boca.
As for Reveco, the former WBA Flyweight and WBA Light Flyweight champion, this will be his third fight since being stopped at the end of 2015 by Kazuto Ioka. The loss was his sole stoppage defeat, and his second loss to Ioka. In his last two bouts he has racked up clear decisions, but has been taking on limited opposition and this does look like a step back up in class for the 33, soon to be 34, year old Argentinian veteran.
For those interested this bout will be televised on TYC Sports.
