Earlier today Boxing M announced that their Super Bantamweight champion Han Bin Suh (4-0-2, 3) [서한빈] will defend his title on July 15th against Jong Won Jung (5-7-2, 4) [정종원], in what will be Suh's first defense of the title he won back in April.
The 19 year old champion made his debut in early 2017 and despite suffering back to back draws, in his 4th and 5th fights, he bounced back with his career best win in April when he stopped Dae Young Lee in 8 rounds to claim the previously vacant Korean title. The challenger on the other hand is a 32 year old who had actually fought to a draw with Dae Young Lee back in February. That draw ended a 3-fight losing run, including 2 stoppage losses on the road in Japan.
Unfortunately the challenger will go into this bout as a huge under-dog given his record, and the fact he had already suffered 4 stoppage losses in his 14 fight career.
This title bout is scheduled for July 15th in Daejeon.
Interestingly Boxing M also revealed that the winner will have to make a mandatory defense against 32 year old veteran Jong Min Jung (9-9, 3) [정종민] in their next bout.
