We've heard reports in the past few hours that unbeaten Filipino teenager Roskie Cristobal (7-0, 7) will be heading to London, England in the coming few months. The reports suggest that Cristobal, 19, will be linking up with English promoter Dennis Hobson, the current promoter of IBF Bantamweight champion Stuart Hall in the hope of getting the youngster some high quality sparring and training.
Stood at 5'10" and fighting from the southpaw stance Cristobal has been explosive so far combining thunderous power with lightning speed. Unfortunately however he is still very raw around the edges needs a lot of development to make the most of his natural gifts. It's hoped that good sparring in the UK will help him develop those skills. Unfortunately in the Philippines fighters his size are often ignored due to lack of suitable competition and good sparring partners this deal however would allow him the sparring he needs to really bring the best out of his talented.
If all goes well for Cristobal there is hope that he will be fighting in England later this year on a Hobson promoted show. If he's as devastating in England as he is in the Philippines, where he has scored 7 stoppages inside 3 rounds, then it's likely he will be a star over there in a division full of talented domestic fighters.
