Earlier today we were informed that Uzbek hopeful Makhmud Gaipov (1-0, 1) will return to the ring on December 8th, to fight on an RCC show in Ekateringburg.
At the moment the full details of Gaipov's bout are yet to be confirmed, such as opponent or length of bout, though those details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.
Gaipov made his debut back on November 10th, stopping Iddi Mkwera in the third round. That bout saw Gaipov dominate his Tanzanian foe, dropping him multiple times before closing the show. The hope is that his opponent for his second bout will be a step up, as he's too good to waste time fighting against so low level opponents.
Earlier today Uzbek hopeful Makhmud Gaipov (1-0, 1) made his professional debut, facing off with Tanzanian Iddi Mkwera (8-2-1, 5).
The Uzbek youngster looked confident from the opening moments and applied pressure on his foe, though did look like a man trying just a little too much to put on a show for the fans. That saw him rushing work and looking a tad untidy at times.
As the bout went on Gaipov's shots started to take a toll on Mkwera, who was dropped early in round 3.
Mkwera got up from the knockdown, but a low blow soon afterwards left him needing to use a significant amount of his 5 allowed minutes to try and recover. When the bout finally resumed Gaipov went after his man, and would score a second legitimate knockdown soon afterwards as Mwkera began to show the accumulated damage of the heavy hands of the Uzbek. Mkwera rose to is feet again but Gaipov just kept coming and eventually the referee saves the Tanzanian, who was looking exhausted and taking clean shots.
