Yesterday we reported that Nursultan Zhangabayev (5-0, 4) [Жанабаев Нурсултан] would be back in the ring on December 23rd in Moscow to take on Filipino tough guy Arnel Tinampay (25-22-1, 11) in a bout for a WBC Asia title. Today we saw more details of that card emerge, with several more Kazakh fighters being added to the show.
One of those fighters is Aidos Yerbossynuly (9-0, 7) [Айдос Ербосынулы], who will be fighting for some minor WBO title. The unbeaten Yerbossynuly will be facing off with Belgian Super Middleweight champion Ilias Achergui (12-3-1, 6). Our source reports this will be for the WBO "Global" Super Middleweight title, and so the winner should be able to find themselves on the verge of a WBO world ranking.
The 27 year old Yerbossynuly began his career in October 2015 and fought his first couple of bouts in Ukraine. Since then he has fought in Kazakhstan and and the US whilst stepping up his level of competition. Archergui on the other hand is a 25 year old, who debuted on April 4th 2015 and will be fighting outside of Belgium for just the second time in his career. Sadly his competition so far has been terrible and it's hard to know just what he's bringing to the table to battle against the Kazakh.
Another bout set for this card with see Kyrgyzstan born Kazakh Ali Baloyev (7-0, 6) [Балоев Али] take on Ecuadorian Jean Carlos Mina (6-1, 2) in a well matched bout on paper. From what we understand this bout will be fought at Heavyweight, though both are more natural Cruiserweights. The Kazakh is a 25 year old who has been a professional for less than 2 years but has already had fights in Poland, USA, Kazakhstan and Russia, picking up international experience very early in his career. Mina on the other hand will be fighting for the first time away from Ecuador, having made his debut in the capital Quito back in August 2016. His only loss came to 2012 Olympian Ytalo Perera.
Also announced for this show is debutant Konstantin Brusensky (0-0) [Константин Брусенский], who will be fighting at Lightweight. His opponent however has not yet been announced though will be shortly.
