In New South Wales earlier today fans were given an upset as unheralded Filipino fighter Rodynie Rafol (14-7-2, 7) upset local hopeful Tyson Lantry (7-2, 3), with a 3rd round TKO win.
Lantry himself has revealed he was caught late in the opening and never shook the effects of the shot. The shot saw him lose his composure and never manage get himself back in the zone before his team had seen enough and took their fighter out of the bout, rather than risk his health going forward.
For the Australian fighter this is his second loss, and his second inside the distance, ending a 6 fight winning run.
As for Rafol, the win nets him the WBF Asia Pacific Lightweight title and sees him build on last year's TKO4 win over James MacDonald. Sadly this bout was more than a year removed from his last bout, and there has to be some worries that he will again be sat on the sideline. Fingers crossed however that he can build on this win, and can get another solid bout without a lengthy wait.
