Yesterday at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center in Behtlehem, Pennsylvania fans had the chance to see unbeaten Tajik prospect Anvar Yunusov (6-0, 3) pick up his latest win, stopping late replacement Jose Salinas (10-4-1, 5).
The 3-time Tajik Olympian cornered his man and unloaded until the referee was forced to jump in and save the over-matched Salinas, who looked defenseless in the corner.
With the win Yunusov has now stopped 3 foes in a row, after failing to stop his first 3 opponents. As for Salinas this was a third stoppage loss, and follows a KO loss back in January 2017 to Erick De Leon, in what was Salinas' previous fight.
At the moment it's unclear when Yunusov will return to the ring, but we're hoping to see him take a step up in class in 2019. He turns 32 in February and given his amateur pedigree and skills we're really hoping his team will let him off the leash sooner rather than later.
