Last year Gakuya Furuhashi (24-8-1, 13) [古橋大輔] became the OPBF "Silver" Super Bantamweight champion, winning the belt in Vietnam. Today he took part in a notable event related to doing tax via a mobile phone, as he's become a PR ambassador for the Kawasaki Tax Office.
Whilst the event was clearly focused on the tax side of things it was also revealed that Furuhashi's next bout had been arranged, and that he would be fighting again on May 18th against Yuta Horiike (15-6-3, 3) [堀池雄大] and will be taking place at the FujisanMesse in Fuji, Shizuoka.
The popular 31 year old Furuhashi seems to have his eyes on the Japanese and OPBF title scenes, and a win over Horiike would certainly open the potential for him to earn himself a title fight before the end of 2019.
We're awaiting more details for the May card, but Furuharashi Vs Horiike is a very exciting looking domestic main event type of bout.
