This morning in Uzbekistan there was a massive meeting of the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, who are responsible for the development of amateur boxing in Uzbekistan.
The meeting's main purpose was revealed yesterday, with Sherzod Tashmatov being relieved of his role as the the vice-president of the boxing federation.
His successor was named today as Saken Pulatov who has been described as an entrepreneur in the Uzbek press.
Pulatov, pictured, is quoted as saying "First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the confidence expressed, and we will achieve great success, and we need to work together," (translated). There was then a number of other people speaking at the meeting, including Hasanboy Dusmatov [Ҳасанбой Дўсматов], who spoke about the Tokyo Olympics and qualifying for the event.
It's unclear what this change will bring, though it does seem like Tashmatov had outstayed his welcome and there was said to be friction between him and the federations president.
