Earlier today saw the official weigh in for tomorrow's Japanese show dubbed "Hopeful fight Vol 16". On paper the show is little more than a domestic card with a few well known domestic fighters though the undercard has managed to get some relatively widespread attention from more than just your typical boxing fans courtesy of two fighters who have managed to make recent headlines.
One of those fighters is the debuting Kohei Kashino (0-0) who has gotten a lot of attention for having turned to boxing whilst being a certified public accountant from the University of Tokyo. Whilst being an educated boxer isn't unheard of it has managed to get him a lot of domestic attention.
For those interested Kashino's bout he will be fighting a Thai opponent in a 4 round Light Flyweight contest. We're unsure who the Thai is though we have been informed that his bout is likely to be streamed on a special ustream channel at 10:30am Tokyo time. For those wanting to watch the bout the channel can be found here.
The other fighter getting a lot of attention is female fighter Riyako Goshi (1-2) who has managed to get attention due in part to her looks and also her gravure photo shoots. Although not a great boxer she is managing to raise the attention of the sport and a interest the media enough into giving the show some attention.
Goshi will will also be fighting a Thai in her upcoming 4 rounder though her bout has been made at Flyweight. Surprisingly she was just 109.25lbs, a full 2lbs lighter than her opponent.
We hope to bring you the full weights from this show later today.
