Tomorrow fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will see two OPBF title fights. One of those takes place at 140lbs and will see former Japanese Super Featherweight champion Rikki Naito (18-2, 6) [内藤 律樹] take on Filipino visitor Jeffrey Arienza (16-6-1, 10) for the vacant title.
Today both Naito and Arienza took part in their weigh in for their contest, and both fighters managed to make weight for the contest.
On the scales Naito was bang on the Light Welterweight limit, weighing 140lbs and looking in great condition. Although he made weight, on the limit, he did say he had a lot of weight to lose, though did it with each and looked like a fighter who could have come in lighter than he did. He spoke confidentally and sounded like a fighter who was set for a career defining performance.
The Filipino was also 140lbs though in all honesty he looked terrible and drawn on the scales, with a really sucked in stomach. Interestingly the Filipino has fought as low as Bantamweight before, and although he has grown into his body he still looked worryingly drained on the actual scales.
