The weigh in for the fight saw both fighters making the contract weight for the bout, though saw poor 17 year old "Wondergirl" come across the circus that has become Takano's weigh ins, though the Japanese model-come-boxer did actually keep this effort relative tame considering some of her weigh in antics.
Rather than come in in any strange attire, as she has in the past, she declared her career was starting again and took scissors to her hair, in front of the press, and removed around 20cm of her hair as part of of the weigh in, whilst declaring that the fight was a new start. Yeah it's not like the full golden body suit she wore a few fights back, but again saw the press in Japan focusing more on her than the actual fight she's set to have.
The fight is a really important one for Takano, who hasn't had an actual fight since her loss last year to Argentina's Daniela Romina Bermudez in November. She has been told that if she loses here it will be the end of her boxing career and he manager has shown some annoyance at her during the year. The hair stunt might just have been a bit of comic relief and a chance to relax but if Takano isn't taking her career seriously it does seem like her team will give her the proverbial kick up the back side.
