Earlier today we learned that Japanese ranked fighter Takuya Watanabe (20-5-1, 8) would be returning to South Korea for the second time this year.
Watanabe, who lost a close decision to Jaesung Lee back in March, will be facing off against Thailand's Yodpichai Sithsaithong (10-11, 4) in a fight in Wonju.
Unlike Watanabe's last fight in South Korea's there is an immediate reward for winning and the winner will be the #1 contender for an IBF Asia title fight later this year. Whilst it may not seem like a great reward the IBF Asia title has generally granted the owner an IBF world title ranking, and often a high one.
Although he is only ranked #5 by the JBC Watanabe will be expected to make like work of his Thai opponent who has won just 1 of his last 6. Although Yodpichai has faced stiff competition, including Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, Jonathan Taconing, Ryo Miyazaki and Rex Tso, we still cannot see him getting past the promising Watanabe
