Next weekend fight fans in Japan will get the chance to see Takuma Inoue (7-0, 2) [井上 拓真] battle against wold class Filipino Froilan Saludar (23-1-1, 14) in a "world title prelude", possibly ahead of a world title fight with Marlon Tapales in December.
Today, ahead of the bout with Saludar, Inoue took part in a public work out session along with trainer/father Shingo Inoue and promoter Hideyuki Ohashi. The work out was partly a work out for the media and also a chance to speak to the media ahead of the bout, with the focus being on the youngster's future and development so far.
The youngster sounded enthusiastic ahead of his upcoming bout and potential world title fight. Mr Ohashi seemed to have been impressed by the development of Inoue describing him looking like a different person in the ring and that he had developed a more balanced approach in the ring, something that has been developed over a training camp that has featured around 120 rounds of sparring.
As for the training session Inoue worked on the mitts with his father, showing an impressive looking left uppercut. He also worked up a sweat shadow boxing and working hard on the running machine to show his fitness
With an air of confidence around him Inoue seems like a fighter who knows he's only a single good performance from getting a world title fight. That knowledge has likely driven him with his preparation here which has been sensational with sparring sessions along side world ranked Filipino Genesis Servania.
