The main event at tomorrow's "Guts Fighting" card is an IBF Super Bantamweight world title eliminator between Japan's talented Shingo Wake (18-4-2, 11) and Thai foe Mike Tawatchai (35-7-1, 21). Today, ahead of the bout, both men took part in the weigh in.
On the scales Wake weighed in bang on the limit at 122lbs. This is his typical weight and he is a career Super Bantamweight who has really carved out his career at the weight, where he has claimed the OPBF title, which will not be on the line tomorrow.
Tawatchai on the other hand was well inside the limit, hitting the scales at 121¼lbs. Sadly we're not certain on his usual weight but this is heavier than he was last time he was in Japan, back in August 2012 when he fought Daiki Kameda and weighed 120¾lbs.
Although both men made weight today they will also under-go another weigh in tomorrow in which both men will have to weigh in under 132lbs. That is part of the IBF's rules and if they fail to make the weight tomorrow they will not be eligible to make the most of the "eliminator" status of the bout.
