Today's been a busy day for the Ohashi gym who announced that their next show would be held at the Sky Arena in Zama, Kanagawa on September 4th. The main attraction to that card will be the WBO Super Flyweight world title bout between Naoya Inoue (10-0, 8) [井上 尚弥] was being linked to a September 4th bout against Thailand's Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (38-7-1, 18) [เพชรบางบอน ก่อเกียรติยิม] however the show does feature other bouts of note. One of those is the supporting bout between Takuma Inoue (7-0, 2) [井上 拓真] and Froilan Saludar (23-1-1, 14) whilst another supporting bout also garnered some attention.
That other bout is the highly anticipated debut of 2012 Olympic bronze medal winner Satoshi Shimizu [清水 聡], who will be debuting in a 6 round bout, if he passes his pro-test bout on July 29th as anticipated.
Shimizu and trainer Koji Matsumoto seemed to be in relaxed spirits at the press conference though unfortunately neither of them, or Mr Ohashi himself, announced who Shimizu would be facing. Just that the bout would be a 6 rounder.
