According to multiple sources, including the ever reliable Massimo Palarchi, an agreement has been reached for the second bout between 2012 Olympic gold medal winnerRyota Murata (12-1, 9) [村田 諒太] and current WBA Middleweight champion Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam (36-2, 21), with the bout said to have been agreed for October 22nd and will take place in Tokyo.
The two men fought back in May, with N'Dam getting one of the most controversial decisions of the year, a decision that even the French media seemed to disagree with, to claim the title. In the days that followed the bout the WBA issued a rematch order for the two men with WBA president Gilberto Mendoza criticising the decision and punishing the judges that scored to N'Dam.
Last month the WBA set a purse bid limit for the contest, before being persuaded to delay the purse bid and let the teams sort out the rematch themselves, something they looked like they had been planning before the WBA's order.
At the moment there is nothing confirmed about the under-card, though we do under-stand it will be a Teiken promoted show, it will be on Fuji TV and held at the Ryogoku Kokugikan, in Tokyo prefecture. It's thought that the card may feature the ring return ofDaigo Higa (13-0, 13) [比嘉 大吾] orKen Shiro (10-0, 5) [拳 四朗], who won the WBC Flyweight and Light Flyweight titles respectively on the same card as Murata's loss to N'Dam.
