Earlier today saw Japanese sources report that former OPBF female Atomweight champion Momoko Kanda (9-9-2, 3) [神田 桃子] had transferred gyms, leaving the Katsumata gym to join the Kyoei gym, and becoming the latest female at the legendary, though now faded, gym.
Kanda was last seen out in March 2016, losing the OPBF title to to Masae Akitaya in an absolute barn burner, with that being a second straight loss for the fun to watch but limited Kanda, who lost to Kumiko Seeser Ikehara in late 2015.
At the Kyoei gym she will join other female fighters, including Jun Yabuki (8-0, 4) [矢吹純] and former world title challenger Tomomi Takano (10-3, 7) [高野 人母美], with t likely that the three will drive eachon to achieve success.
At the moment it's unclear when Kanda will make her ring return, but it does seem like Kyoei will want her out before the end of the year, so we could see her in action sooner rather than later, and potentially being part of an A-sign card.
