Reports from Kyoto suggest that former Japanese Bantamweight champion Shohei Omori (15-1, 10) was arrested early this week following an altercation with with a woman in her 40's.
The full details certainly seem to be scarce though from what was reported in the Kyoto Shimbun is that Omori was arrested and interviewed before being released today, for an incident that occurred yesterday. The incident seems to have been a very minor one in a park and it now seems like it has been dropped.
For Omori it completes a horrible few weeks, even if it has been dropped quickly, and comes only a few weeks after he suffered his first professional, a 2nd round TKO defeat to Filipino fighter Marlon Tapales.
Strangely following the arrest the Woz boxing blog, which is run by the gym that Omori fights for, was updated with a post that appears to have been updated with a peculiar entry.
Thankfully it appears to be an end to the issue and Omori will will be hoping to put it behind him and get back to his very promising career,
