Earlier today we were informed that OPBF Atomweight champion Eri Matsuda (2-0) [松田恵里] would be facing Japanese champion Nanae Suzuki (8-2-1, 1) [鈴木 菜々江] on March 13th at the Korakuen Hall, on a show under the Victoriva banner.
The unbeaten Matsuda made her debut last August, when she defeated Hana Hazuki in a competitive contest. She then took the OPBF Atomweight title by beating Minayo Kei in December, in a very impressive 8 round performance. The win saw Matsuda show fantastic boxing skills, and despite being such a professional novice she does appear to have a very complete and competent professional style.
Suzuki on the other hand has been around for a while, making her debut in March 2016. She lost 2 of her first 3 bouts, but has since battled back amazingly well, going 7-0-1 and avenging every set back she has had along the way. Last march Suzuki would win the Japanese Atomweight title with a decision win over Sana Hazuki, and since then she has defended the belt twice.
There are at least one more big bouts expected for this show, which will only feature female bouts, but it is yet to be announced.
