Yesterday we reported that that OPBF Featherweight champion Hisashi Amagasa (27-4-2, 18) would be defending his title on October 15th against former Japanese national champion Koji Umetsu (22-14-3, 10). We have to apologise because we have now been informed that Amagasa will not be fighting Umetsu.
Instead of fighting Umetsu we now know that Amagasa will be fighting Ryo Takenaka (16-2-1, 6), the OPBF #8 ranked challenger and former amateur stand out. For the 29 year old Takenaka this will be his first title fight and see him attempting to score the biggest win of his career, by far. As for Amagasa this bout will see him defending his belt for the third time.
The two men have fought 5 mutual opponents. Of those 5 opponents 2 have been beaten by both fighters, 2 of them have beaten Takenaka whilst being beaten by Amagasa and one, Ryo Fueki, has beaten Amagasa and lost to Takenaka.
As originally reported this bout will take place on October 15th at the Korakuen Hall and be featured on "Guts Fighting", the only change to the original story is the change in opponent.
