Yesterday, July 15th, saw Zolani Tete (18-3, 16) take part in his public work out ahead of his world title bout with Japan's unbeaten Teiru Kinoshita (19-0-1, 3). The work out saw not only Tete taking part in an open work out, which included him skipping rope, but also some rather unusual other activities.
Amongst those activities was some singing accompanied by Vuvuzelas, an instrument made infamous in the 2010 FiFa World Cup when the stadiums were made to sound like a bees nest nest, and something that apparently resembled the a Shaman like casting of magic. In fact one source has informed us that Tete was inflicting a "curse" on Kinoshita.
Tete, who sounded almost bashful from the quotes we've received, looked in genuinely tremendous shape and although much of today may have been about his South African culture it's obvious that he is serious about taking the IBF Super Flyweight title back to South Africa after his bout.
