Yesterday in Argentina saw the official weigh in for Friday's WBA Flyweight world title fight. The bout, which unifies the WBA and WBA interim titles, saw both men successfully making weight and it seems likely that we will be in for a real "slobberknocker".
Interim champion Yodmongkol Vor Saengthep (34-2, 20) was the lighter man on the scales, weighing in at 111.5lbs, exactly 1/2lb lighter than he was when he won the title stopping Koki Eto in a highly entertaining bout in November 2013. Sadly previous weights for the Thai are hard to come by though we believe that this is his typical fighting weight.
As for the "regular" champion, Juan Carlos Reveco (34-1, 18), he was dead on the weight at 112lbs. This is his typical weight and the same as he was against Jean Piero Perez when he won the title in 2011 and the same weight he was when he defended the belt 3 times, including his win over Masayuki Kurokda. Notably however it is slightly heavier than he has been in his last 3 defences.
For those wanting to watch the bout, which is expected to be a thriller, it will be shown on both TYC Sports, in Argentina, and Channel 7 in Thailand.
