Later today we'll see Japan's Sho Ishida (24-0, 13) [石田 匠] battle against WBA Super Flyweight champion Khalid Yafai (22-0, 14) in Wales, in what will be a mandatory defense for Yafai and Ishida's first world title fight.
Yesterday the two men took part in their weigh in for the contest, and both men made weight for the contest, in fact both fighters have come in under the 115lb limit.
On the scales the champion was 114.5lbs and looked in good shape. Despite being significantly shorter than the challenger he looked the naturally stronger fighter and was much thicker and wider than Ishida.
As for Ishida he was slightly heavier, though was also under the limit. Ishida wasseveral inches taller that Yafai but certainly much slimmer around the body and looked like a fighter who was potentially a little drainer, but certainly no more than he has been in other recent bouts.
Sho Ishida looks to steal the show and claim WBA title against Kal Yafai!
