Yesterday Korean fans had the chance to see former WBO female Minimumweight champion Su Yun Hong (14-1-1, 7) [홍서연] successfully retain her WIBA Light Flyweight title, recording the 4th defense of the title that she won back in October 2014.
The talented Korean was up against Filipino veteran Jujeath Nagaowa (13-17-1, 8) who tried to use her experience to over-come the difference in skill but, thankfully for Hong, the Korean simply had too much ability.
Hong began the fight by using her movement whilst forcing Nagaowa to come forward, with the champion managing to land sharp counters and get her own shots off with out too much in reply. That speedy start however took it's toll on Hong who began to look like she was tiring in round 5 and by the end of round 7 she began to puff up around the face.
Nagaowa, sensing the champion was possibly there for the taking, tried to step up in the final rounds by Hong drew on all her reserves to claim the win, via a unanimous decision.
