Ahead of that bout Kimura has been in Thailand, training at the 13 Coins gym.
The training camp has seen Kimura share the camp a number of Thai's, including former Naoya Inoue opponent Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (41-8-1, 19) [เพชรบางบอน ก่อเกียรติยิม], who might not have been competitive against Inoue but will help Kimura.
It's thought that the tough Thai conditions will help Kimura toughen up and hone his skills ahead of a career defining fight with Shiming. It's been running for a week and he'll continue to train there until July 9th.
Originally the Japanese youngster had been booked to defend the WBO Asia Pacific Flyweight title against former world champion Kwanthai Sithmorseng (50-4-1, 26) on July 11th. Instead Kimura has cancelled that bout, but will attend the show and talk to the fans ahead of the Shiming bout.
