According to WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman there has been an agreement with WBC female Flyweight champion Shindo Go (14-2, 9) to defend her belt in a mandatory title fight.
Go, who recently announced she wouldn't be able to meet the mandatory defence due to "personal reasons", appears to have met with Mr Sulaiman personally to explain the issue. It appears that the WBC have then accepted that there is something going on and have agreed to allow Go time before her fight with mandatory challenger Arely Mucino (20-2-2, 10).
We would like to congratulate the WBC on actually using some discretion here and doing what is right for boxing, not just what is right for them.
It's not often we can say this but well done to all those involved for sorting this out like adults rather than the typical nonsense we see week after week in the boxing world.
