The most notable name to have been at the Wild Card is 2-time Olympic champion Zou Shiming (3-0) who has been sparring with Britain's Scott Quigg (27-0-2, 20), the current WBA Super Bantamweight champion. Although the pairing was one no one expected it was apparently a great sessions with both men being given a chance to work on things.
Shiming wasn't the only man to share the ring with Quigg as unbeaten Filipino Genesis Servania (23-0, 9) also shared time with the world champion with the session apparently being a very competitive one that saw both men getting down to action.
Servania's compatriot, and former world title challenger, Milan Melindo (30-1, 12) was also there. Melindo also shared the ring with Shiming as well as former world champion Brian Viloria (34-2-0-2, 19) with both sessions being good work for Melindo who will likely be hoping to get back in to action in the coming weeks.
The final Asian of interest was IK Yang (14-0-0-1, 9) who shared ring time with Britain's unbeaten Scott Cardle (13-0, 2).
With both Yang, real name Yang Lian Hui, and Shiming preparing to fight on the "Rings of Gold" card their next move is obviously to stay in the gym and get ready for their bouts. For Melindo and Servania the plan is to head to Mexico for further sparring as they attempt to build on their skills and share the ring with more and more quality fighters.
