Back in September we saw the news break that Thai veterans Samson Dutch Boy Gym (43-0, 26) and Veeraphol Sahaprom (66-4-2, 46) were in talks to face off later this year, in a remarkable double-comeback-fight.
Yesterday the two men took part in their medical check ups for the bout, and both managed to pass all the tests that were put their way, and have now been medically cleared to fight, with the bout set to take place in December.
This week not only saw the fighters being given their medical tests, but also holding something of a press conference ahead of the bout, which will take place on December 27th.
The press conference saw large sums of money being banded about for both fighters, who are set for a very lucrative pay day. Samson's pay does appear to have a minimum assured amount, whilst Veeraphol's amount wasn't made public. Interestingly the bout has seen both men have a life insurance policy put up for the bout as well.
Although the men have a combined age of 93, the bout is expected to be a notable one in Thailand and is already garnering some serious media attention in the fighters' homeland.
