Japanese Olympic gold medal winner Ryota Murata (2-0, 2) is set to prove that not only can he fight but that he can also act as he takes on a minor role in a drama about Japanese legend Fighting Harada.
The drama, which loosely translates as "The man who broke the Golden Bantam", is about Harada and his signature wins over Brazilian icon Eder Jofre. Harada, as we know, was the only man in history to defeat Jofre, an accomplishment Harada did twice.
The production, which features Murata as a trainee officer, is lead by Japanese acting star Ichihara Hayato who will play Harada. This isn't the first time Hayato has been in a movie about boxing having also been in the 2010 film "Bokkusu!" (BOX!).
Others in the drama include the award winning Tsurutaro Kataoka, the gorgeous Rina Uchiyama and the legendary Ran Ito and it's expected to air on Fuji TV on February 22nd at 9PM local time, following Murata's bout with Carlos Nascimento, coincidentally Murata v Nascimento is also a Japanese fighter against a Brazilian like Harada's bouts with Jofre.
