We have just learned that popular Japanese fighter Nobuhiro Ishida (25-10-2, 10) will be making his ring return on September 14th on a card dubbed "Crash Boxing Volume 2".
Ishida, who was last seen losing a tight 8 rounder to Japanese Heavyweight champion Kyotaro Fujimoto, is expected to be fighting in another 8 rounder at Heavyweight though his opponent has not yet been named. Odds are that if he wins he will call out the winner of Fujimoto's rematch with Kotatsu Takehara for a Heavyweight title fight in 2015.
The card won't just be the comeback of Ishida but also the former Japanese Bantamweight champion Kohei Oba (35-3-1, 14), who will be fighting for the first time since suffering an 8th round TKO loss to Randy Caballero. Oba is scheduled to meet domestic journeyman Keigo Soma (6-10-1, 3) in what is clearly an easy return to the ring ring for Oba who will be looking to get back off to winning ways.
Another fight confirmed for the card will see Yu Kawaguchi (20-6, 9) facing Seizo Kono (14-6-1, 9). Kawaguchi, much like Ishida and Oba, is also attempting to bounce back from a loss, a technical decision loss to Kentaro Masuda in a Japanese Bantamweight title fight.
At the moment the rest of the card has yet to be announced though the venue is set as the Bodymaker Colosseum in Osaka. Hopefully we'll get the news of Ishida's opponent in the coming days.
