Later today we'll get the chance to see WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (13-0, 11) [井上 尚弥] make his US debut, and battle against American challenger Antonio Nieves (17-1-2, 9). The bout, which will potentially be Inoue's western break out bout, has got global interest, however the bookies are viewing it as a total mismatch.
The Japanese "Monster" opened as a 1/14 favourite in the UK but the money has piled on him and he is now widely priced at 1/33, with the best price being 1/20. With all the money going on Inoue it's no wonder that there is potential value on Nieves, who is now 14/1 to win! It would be a huge shock for Nieves to win, but those who were patient and backing him have got a very nice reward for their patience. As for the draw that's available at a huge 40/1.
For Inoue backers there is better valuein the method of victory market with the champion priced at 2/7 to win by stoppage and conversely 7/2 to claim a decision victory over the American, who has never been stopped. A stoppage by Nieves is available at 16/1 whilst Nieves claiming the decision is a huge 33/1.
For those not expecting the fight to go the distance, bookies are carrying a 1/4 price on the bout ending before the final bell, and a 7/2 price for it to last the 36 minutes.
The Monster takes on Nieves in US debut, but can he shine?
