Today, as part of his preparation for that bout, Murata took part in a 10 round sparring session, sharing the ring with his 3 sparring partners for the bout.
The session saw Murata spar 4 rounds with Patrick Day (13-2-1, 6) and 3 round with both Steven Martinez (17-3, 13) and regular sparring partner Adrian Luna Flores (20-4-1, 13).
The session saw Murata look like an improved fighter to how many had seen him in the past. His left hand, specifically to the body, looked potent whilst his heavy right hand to the head was landing with real regularity, and it's clear Murata is feeling confidence in his power shots.
Not only ws it clear he was confident in the sparring session but it seemed like he became more confidence and he was looking, and sounding, like a fighter who was full of joy of having had a good session and feeling like he's developing his skills and abilities.
