Over the weekend it was revealed that Pakistan's fighting sensation Muhammad Waseem (7-0, 5) will return to the ring in September to take on his next test, as he looks to move towards a potential world title fight.
The highly regarded former amateur standout will be in action on September 23rd as he takes on former world title challenger Jorle Estrada (18-8, 7), who fought Filipino Merlito Sabillo in 2013 for the WBO Minimumweight title.
For Waseem the bout is being viewed as a final bout before a world title contest in early 2017, against the winner of the October bout between Daigo Higa (13-0, 13) [比嘉 大吾] and Thomas Masson (17-3-1, 5).
The bout with Estrada will take plce in Colombia and will be Waseem's third bout of the year, following two easy wins in Panama. It's expected to be a tougher outing than his last two, however Estrada shouldn't pose much of a threat given he's a naturally smaller man who hasn't fought in over 3 years.
After the bout Waseem's team will begin work on getting his world title fight sorted and start preparations for the bout.
