Tomorrow fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see a WBA Atomweight unification bout, as "interim" champion Ayaka Miyao (23-7-1, 6) [宮尾 綾香] takes on the WBA regular champion Monseratt Alcaron (12-4-2), in a bout that was originally set to take place last year before Alcaron suffered an injury.
Just moments ago the two women took part in their weigh in and both fighters made the 102lb Atomweight limit on their first attempt, with no issues at all.
On the scales today the more experienced Miyao was 102lbs and looked calm, relaxed and confident. Alcaron on the other hand was well under the limit, hitting the scales at around 100.3lbs for the contest.
At the weigh in Miyao stated she was in perfect shape for this bout and had been thinking about facing Alcaron since last November and it's clear she has big hopes for her career, despite having been a professional 2004, and being 36 years old.
