On Friday we had the chance to report on the recent announcement of Takashi Miura's (29-2-2, 22) upcoming WBC Super Featherweight title defense against Francisco Vargas (22-0-1, 16). That however wasn't Miura's only new for the day as it was also reported that he was beginning a training camp with 3 other members of the Teiken stable.
Miura, who will be training in Narita for the next few days, went along with 2012 Olympic gold medal winner Ryota Murata (7-0, 5), former 2-weight world champion Takahiro Ao (27-3-1-1, 12) and world ranked Light Flyweight Yu Kimura (17-2-1, 3).
Although the announcement on Friday did tell us when Miura was back in the ring we are awaiting the announcements in regards to the rest of his training buddies. We are however expecting announcements to be made shortly with Murata likely to make his US debut in November, Kimura possibly getting a world title fight and Ao probably getting an easy match up following his No Contest against Raymundo Beltran, who failed a drugs test. Hopefully those announcements will be made in the coming weeks.
Takashi Miura Vs Francisco Vargas is a done deal for November 21st!
