Those two men are the unbeaten OPBF Lightweight champion Masayoshi Nakatani (8-0, 5) and first time title challenger Futoshi Usami (12-1-1, 9), himself a heavy handed fighter.
At the weigh in Nakatani towered over his foe by several inches, despite Usami's slightly wild looking hair. It however wasn't just height Nakatani had on his side but also weight with the champion weighing in at 134.75lbs, that was 0.75lbs heavier than the challenger. It was worth noting however that both looked very solid at the weight and neither looked to have drained particularly to make Lightweight.
For those curious about our views on that bout we have previewed the bout here.
The main event isn't the only Lightweight bout on this show which will feature Yuhei Suzuki (14-4, 11) fighting against Keisuke Arima (8-9-1, 1) in the chief support. The weights for that bout saw Suzuki weighing dead on the limit at 135lbs whilst Arima was 134.75lbs. For Suzuki this bout is vital following a 7th round stoppage loss to Yoshitaka Kato in a Japanese title bout last time out for Arima however it's a major ask though a win would likely put him in the Japanese rankings.
