Whilst we all know that Ioka Gym have a high profile show this coming Tuesday with the "Comeback" of Kazuto Ioka and Ryo Miyazaki it may be worth noting that the Gym will already by celebratory mood thanks to Super Flyweight prospect Masayoshi Hashizume (5-0, 3).
On Sunday Hashizume won the Rookie of the West Super Flyweight tournament with an excellent opening round victory over the previously unbeaten Takeshi Kajikawa (3-1, 2).
Hashizume is the next on the conveyor belt of prospects form the Ioka Gym which has given us world champion, such as Kazuto Ioka and Ryo Miyazaki, a current OPBF champion in Masayoshi Nakatani and a current Japanese champion, Sho Ishida. Although no one is yet suggesting that the 21 year old Hashizume will reach that level there is an indicator that he is that good.
Hashizume will be hoping to win the All Japan Rookie of the Year later this year.
For those wondering about the other results from this show, we hope to bring you them in the next day or two.
