Multiple sources from Japan have informed us that the proposed Super Featherweight bout between Japan's Kosuke Saka (11-3, 8) and unbeaten Mexican Andres Gutierrez (33-0-1, 23) has been cancelled.
The bout, which was scheduled for December 12th, is said to have been cancelled at the request of Gutierrez's team.
Despite the cancellation of the bout Saka isn't going to be left inactive and will instead be in action in Osaka on December 27th against a Thai foe in an 8 rounder. The bout might be a big step down but we suspect he'll be glad to get in the ring with out being left on the side line for a prolonged break and it's more likely that he'll be able to pick up a win here against the Thai than he would against the talented Mexican fighterr.
