Yesterday, Tuesday January 27th, saw a Korean national tournament kick off at the IYF Gwangju Culture Center.
The show, which isn't included in the boxrec database and is very unlikely ever to be added, featured more than 10 bouts and was part of a KBF sanctioned tournament as the organisation looks to find the best young talent in the country.
Unfortunately as the show isn't included on boxrec the names of the fighters is a problem, to say the least, however we hope the eventual winners of the competition will become notable names and may even help South Korea reemerge as a serious boxing country.
Notably this KBF tournament isn't the only national tournament set to take place this year in the country though it is the first one to begin and we suspect it will be the biggest. In fact it's so big that the first round of bouts will run until Thursday with a numerous fights set for both Wednesday and Thursday.
