Earlier today saw Kyoei hold a notable press conference in regards to the future of former WBO Bantamweight champion Tomoki Kameda's (32-2, 20) [亀田和毅].
Firstly the big bit of news is that his holder brother, and former 3-weight world champion, Koki Kameda [亀田 興毅] will become Tomoki's head trainer starting as part of this current and on going camp for Tomoki. Koki has been working as a personal trainer and is hoping to use his boxing experience to bring the best out of his younger brother, who has began to work towards a ring return in Spring.
The second bit of news regarding Tomoki's career is that he will be returning in Spring and his team are pursuing a bout against a world ranked fighter. In fact Keiichiro Kanehira seems confident of landing Tomoki a fight against a world ranked opponent and will be looking to pusg Kameda into big fights, potentially world title fights, before the end of 2017.
The youngster, who fought several times in America, apears to be looking to prove himself once again to Japanese fans and with his brother as his trainer and Kyoei backing him there is a real chance that 2017 will be a huge year for the youngster.
