Eto, the taller of the two men, comes in the bout looking for his second title defense. A win here is expected to help him move towards a potential world title bout later in the year. As for Fukumoto he enters the contest knowing that a win could turn around his struggling career, which had it's high point way back in December 2010 when he came up short against the then Japanese Super Flyweight champion Yota Sato.
Today saw the weigh in for the bout and although we don't yet have the particulars we know both men looked in great shape and both made weight.
We also know that both men sounded very confident of picking up the win with the challenger suggesting he was going for a knockout and Eto seemingly being pointed towards a world title fight if he wins in impressive fashion.
