The announcement of the bout came from his opponents camp, Manabe gym. The gym announced that their fighter, the unbeaten Katsunori Nagamine (10-0, 6), would be fighting against Kenshiro with the date and show both being mentioned alongside the venue, the Korakuen Hall.
Sadly we've not yet received all the details, for example the scheduled number of rounds and the weight of the bout.
For Nagamine this will be his first bout of 2015 and will, hopefully, allow him to put a disappointing 2014 behind him. The talented 23 year old did look like a prospect to make a note of in 2012, when he won the Flyweight Rookie of the year, though unfortunately medical issues have limited to just 3 fights since the end of 2012. Although he is unbeaten there is clearly a lack of career momentum and serious worries that his medical issues will reoccur.
As for Kenshiro this will be another step up in his very promising career though it's a step that he should manage given his reputation from the amateurs. On his debut he looked sensational completely out boxing the highly experienced Heri Amol and since then has scored a second round blow out against Thailand's Phuwanai Wor Surapol. Notably this will be his first bout against a Japanese opponent
We're hoping the full details regarding this bout, and the show in full, will be released shortly.
