Kazakh Heavyweight hopeful Izim Izbaki (2-0, 1) [Изим Избаки] has had a stop-start professional career, with several scheduled bouts falling through since his debut in November 2011. Despite the issues he has received some hype from his homeland, with many in his native Kazakhstan tipping him as a genuine prospect, albeit one that will not be fast tracked.
Today saw the next bout in Izbaki's career being announced, with the Kazakh added to the October 5th card in Flint, which will be headlined by Claressa Shields facing off with Ivana Habazin.
Whilst it's good to see Izbaki on the card it's unfortunate that the unbeaten Kazakh is sadly being very softly matched on the show. The 24 year old Kazakh is pencilled in to face off with the win-less Troy Albring (0-2) in a 6 rounder.
Whilst this will be Izbaki's first 6 round bout it's worth noting that Albring has been stopped in the first round of both of his bouts so far, so the 6 round schedule isn't expected to be needed her for Izbaki, especially given that Albring is a blown up Light Heavyweight who who hasn't fought in over 2 years.
Hopefully a quick blow out win for Izbaki here will mean he's back in the ring before the year is out, and will be in a step up, as this is almost certainly going to be a waste of time for the talented Kazakh hopeful
