Thailand's hard hitting Jomthong Chuwatana (7-0, 4) will not be returning to the ring on May 24 as first reported. The bout, an OPBF Super Featherweight title defence, has been re-scheduled to July 12th. Details of the rescheduling are scarce tough we assume that the opponent will still be Koseki Nakama (17-4, 8).
Jomthong, who hasn't fought a pro boxing contest in over a year now, has remained in action with some Muay Thai bouts though some may feel he should have been stripped of his OPBF title due to inactivity.
Ranked #8 by the OPBF Nakama will know that this is a major opportunity for him to climb in to the fringes of the world rankings. It's a very tough fight for the Japanese fighter though he'll be well aware that the reward outweighs the risk. As for Jomthong he'll know that a loss would be a major set back to his dream of being a double champion however a victory would help re-establish himself on the boxing scene.
